This question may sound like a no-brainer, yet many concientious Lutherans disagree. Of course, the answer is yes, as long as it is celebrated in a God-pleasing way. Apparently, I am not the only one who sees things this way, and now you can read more about it in a genuine book. See Cyberbrethren’s post about the news on Little Loci. Since I already have so many books on my “to read” list, how do I go about obtaining — and reading — this one? The perpetual problem.

Of course the answer is yes. The Lord’s Supper is a gift of God for the forgiveness of our sins. It also offers us the opportunity to experience the real presence of Christ in fellowship with fellow believers. Word and sacrament provide our God given faith with sustaining and developmental nourishment. We should desire to participate in Holy Communion as often as possible, not as something we do for God, but as something we do to avail ourselves of this gift from God. I have difficulty understanding why any truly Christian church would not wish to offer this sacrament as frequently as possible.
